Day&Night Services’s Stewarding team is responsible for getting the kitchen back into shape so that your kitchen staff is ready to take on orders for the next day of business. This includes cleaning, transporting, storing all kitchen utensils, cookware, bakeware, glassware, silverware, chinaware, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, kitchen storage rooms, and employee break room.
Grease and stains in commercial kitchens are different from household kitchens. It’s critical to achieve high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in restaurants. This helps to keep pests away and ensure there is no contamination.
Our stewarding staff will not only clean the kitchen but ensure that every corner of the food & beverage establishment from the dining area to the washroom is sanitized and spanking clean.

Hotel Stewarding Duties
Hotel Stewards perform a variety of responsibilities whenever they are on shift. They need to be flexible in order to switch back and forth between multiple tasks. The following list outlines the core duties and responsibilities Hotel Stewards perform daily.
Cleaning of all Dining Utensils
Hotel Stewards need to ensure all cutlery like plates, glasses and dished are perfectly cleaned between uses. This often involves using a commercial dishwasher and then hand cleaning to remove leftover stains.
Cleaning of Kitchen and Storage Areas
Hotel Stewards are also to ensure the kitchen and storage areas are clean all the time. This includes cleaning commercial kitchen cooking appliances, such as ovens, stoves, grills, freezers and deep frying vetts. This is the critical requirement of the Hotel Steward, as the kitchen must meet Singapore Food Agency’s food hygiene standards at all times.
Maintain Professional Personal Appearance
Although this will vary slightly from employer to employer, all Hotel Stewards must have a clean and professional appearance. This means wearing appropriate entire, covering body art like tattoos and grooming facial hair.
Hotel Steward Skills
The food & beverage industry is a fast-paced work environment. Kitchens of f&b establishments can get hectic, so Hotel Stewards must be able to do their their work fast and work under pressure.
Ability to Multitask
As Hotel Stewards work in fast paced environment, they must be able to multitask during peak dining hours.
Communication Skills
Hotel Stewards need to communicate constantly with the service and kitchen staff. Clear and effective communication is essential at the back end of any dining establishment.
